Ivana Cherry
Founder & CEO
A Memphis, Tennessee native and the Founder of Balance Athletic Center. As a product of the student-athlete experience, she understands firsthand how sports build discipline, confidence, and teamwork, while also recognizing the importance of academic excellence and life skills. Ivana continues to give back by coaching and supporting student-athletes both on the field and in the classroom. She founded Balance Athletic Center to level the playing field and create a safe, inspiring space where youth can thrive physically, mentally, and academically on and off the field.
Our Story
Balance Athletic Center was founded to create equity and opportunity for student-athletes. As a former student-athlete, our founder understands firsthand how sports can open doors—but only when paired with academic success, mentorship, and life preparation.
This nonprofit was created to ensure no student-athlete has to choose between athletic development and academic support. At Balance, we believe they deserve both.

Vision
Our vision is to develop leaders, scholars, and champions—young people who are confident in their abilities, committed to their education, and prepared to contribute positively to their communities.
Our Promise
Our promise to our families and community is to provide every Balance student-athlete with the support, structure, and guidance they need to succeed — in school, in sport, and in life. Through intentional athletic development, academic support, and mentorship, all grounded in a safe and positive environment, Balance Athletic Center empowers youth to grow with confidence, character, and purpose.
Our promise extends beyond our facility. Through our work, we are creating access and opportunity for young people of all backgrounds, strengthening families, and helping shape a generation of leaders who are prepared to thrive both on and off the field.
Our Impact

This gap disproportionately impacts underserved families and limits opportunities for long-term success.Balance Athletic Center exists to change that — by providing a safe, supportive space where young people can grow, learn, and thrive.
